ST. LOUIS — Shane Cohn, a young community organizer in the city’s Dutchtown section, has won the crowded contest for an open seat in the 25th Ward.

Cohn, who turns 29 next month, bested three other Democrats in today’s primary, including Debby Kotraba, the wife of a deputy fire chief, and Travis Reems, a former City Hall aide.

Cohn faces no opposition in the April 7 general election. He replaces Alderman Dorothy Kirner, who is retiring this year after her replacing her late husband, Dan, in 2004.

Cohn will be the second-youngest member of the board — he’s two months older than Alderman Kacie Starr Triplett.
